Welcome to the CGSA Spring 2010 End of Season Tournament! Just a few things to make sure the tournament runs smoothly: 1. Highest seeded team will be the home team throughout the tournament. 2. Game balls will be provided to the umpires by the league. 3. A tournament director will be available during all games to answer questions and handle disputes that can not be resolved by the umpires. Please ask for the tournament director if an issue arises during your game as no protests will be accepted after the fact. It would be a good idea to read over your age division rules one more time before the tournament begins. 4. To speed up the games during tournament play player pitchers will be allowed 5 warm-up pitches the first inning and only 3 warm-up pitches every inning after that. No warm-up balls allowed in the infield or outfield after the first inning. Please have your catcher geared up and ready to go when the third out is made. 5. The International Tie Breaker (ITB) rule will be used in the event that a game (10U-14U) is tied at the end of regulation. ITB rule states that beginning in the first extra inning of play the offensive team shall begin its turn at bat with the player scheduled to bat last in that respective half inning being placed on second base. For example, if the number five batter is to lead off, the number four batter in the batting order should be placed on second base. Continue to use the ITB rule in each extra inning until there is not a tie at the completion of the inning. 8U Extra Innings: Coaches will be allowed 3 pitches instead of 5 pitches per batter. 6. If you are short players, continue to use the play up list that Mike Marshall provided to fill your team. As stated in the CGSA rules for 10U and up, playing with less than 9 players means you will be required to take an out in the 9th slot of your batting order every time it comes up. |
